Hi Chinta,
congratulations on your new windows installation. Now you have to install the chip set and network driver which are specific to your computer (motherboard). You can find those on the manufacturers website with your model number under download drivers or you have the driver cd which might have come with the computer.
The chipset on the motherboard is the manager of whatever is plugged into the motherboard or on the motherboard. So your network card chip is also on the motherboard.
Simply download the specific network driver from the manufacturers website, under support, software/drivers with your model number.

Start the computer, press F2 or DEL to get into the bios and set the boot priority to boot from the CD rom first and the hd second.

Hi Chinta,
If you still have content on the hard disk you need, then it is a little bit more complex. In my opinion you have spyware and viruses on the computer.
This requires that you reinstall windows xp from scratch and you format the hard disk to ntfs just to be on the safe side. So start booting from the cd, say yes to install a new version of xp, agree to the license agreement with F8, Delete the existing partition, create a new partition, format new partition with NTFS (not quick format) and install windows xp, once installed, goto internet explorer and click on tools windows update and do all express updates until none are left.
If you have content on the computer which you would like to keep, you have to bring it to a store. Trying to explain how to get the content of the computer exceeds the parameters of this forum. Please keep me posted.

Hello! I'm not abel to connect to the internet, the only screen that will come up on my computer is the Windows setup 33 minutes setup (after enter the product key). I experience this issue when you select any one of the following options when I restart the computer: last known good configuration, safe mode, ect. And I tried to do the last known good configuration, but is not abel to. I don't know what to do !

Hi Chinta,
the first thing I want you to do is goto http://www.pctools.com and download and run Spyware doctor.
Let's see if you have spyware on it.
Please keep me posted.

To Whom It May Concern:
Hello! My name is Chinta, I'm having some issues with my HP Pavillion 500n computer (I know it's an old computer), and I would appreciate it if you would help me out . Okay I try to install Windows XP SP2 on my computer, but it wont complete the download setup because it's a DLL file missing on the cd. It had about 33 minutes finish setup, but it wont complete. I purchase another RAM memory, but it still does the same thing. And I try to put in another OS cd in such as Windos 98 and Winidows XP SP1 and I don't know what else to do. I can't even use the last known good configuration or safe mode. I was trying to upgrade my operating system to XP SP2 from XP SP1. Will you please help me out please I don't know what else to do !
Thank You!
