Set the hard drive you want to retrieve the data from with the jumbers to slave. If you are confused about the correct jumber settings you can always look them up on the manufacturers website.
Again "slave" is the safest setting, followed by auto "select"
Then you hook up the old drive to your new computer, so that you have one master drive "the new one" and one slave drive "the old one" in there.
To make life less complicated disconnect your DVD or CD Rom drives.
Then you boot up and your "old" drive should show up. Now you can copy data from the old to the new drive.

The hard drive is no longer in a PC, however there is infomation on the drive that I would like to recover and install on the new computer. Is there a way that I can do this??????????
