There are only five unique variables, which identify a computer that come to my mind.
The simplest one Ip address (the other ones will not be mentioned). Do the visitors always come from the same city/cities (Google Analytics - Geographical overlay)? You can scan your log files for identical Ip addresses, but it is useless if you are dealing with a professional fraud clicker/clickers. Check the geographical overlay day by day, by month. Watch out for clicks from countries you do not advertise in. Where are the coming from?
What is your bounce rate? How long do people stay on your site?
You can also install a cosurf application, so you can see what people do on your site.
Remember we are not interested in traffic, but conversions.
Lets say you found a clicker who clicked on your AD ten times in a month on random days. You can only see that it is from city xyz in the state x. Hmm, never had a customer from that city. Since you provide tech support, you know there is no reason an internet surfer from city xyz clicks on you ten times during a months, without any conversion, because either they like you or are unsure, but that would mean two clicks but not 10.
Could be an employee from the competition who is clicking on you. So what do you do to defend yourself, 10 clicks cost you $15 and that is only the top of the iceberg.
Or is the ppc search engine omitting the second or first sentence of your ad?
