Hi there:
Once you are confronted with ppc click fraud from your competitor or because a search engine for example only shows half of your add, you are not happy:
1. You are loosing $500 a week or more on ppc click fraud.
2. You get ulcors
3. You are thinking if this goes on I am out of business.
4. You think about counter measures.
4.1 It is important to have a well rounded set of ethical and moral believes, in order t to face those issues correctly. Do not let your believes wonder of in the land of greed and most important do only what is 100 percent legal and in conformity with your ethical and moral standards. Do not forget what you do is who you are. You can not act like a hypocrat who behaves different in his private or family life in comparison to his business life.
Being a computer professional, it sometimes is difficult to see the big picture, everything is in bits and bytes, but I have to say once you put your mind to it and think it through, you can solve the equation how they do it technically to not be detected by search engines. Do not ask me how they do it, because it should not be publicized. It is more important to take counter measures.
Even when a country goes to war, there are certain rules, guide lines which should be followed.
Everybody says, attack is better than defense. Well both is important, but the most important think is that you have a set of believes, rules and guidelines which you follow and you should not break the law at any times. That is why we have it, without it there would not be a structured chaos.
In the following posts (which will follow in next days, weeks) I will explain, how to detect ppc fraud, what you can do to defend yourself and of course a little technical excert how those people do it, without giving a blueprint to committ ppc fraud.
