Internet Connection fading in and out

  1. Take your computer to a friend’s house or office and see if it works. If it works at a friends house you know it is your network (and it should be your network)
  2. Get your cable modem replaced for free, tell them you experience 10 percent packet loss and your modem is three years old.
  3. Make a Comcast technician come to your house and check all the cable TV splitters. If they are old, the fade and cause packet loss. The internet connection is on a different frequency then your cable TV. For example my signal for TV and Internet comes in at plus 10 once in the house before the cable modem is ends up being minus 7. One will experience a packet loss on or lower 10. This issue cannot be resolved with a Comcast guy over the phone, they have to come to your house and measure your splitters and cable connections.
